Carlo58
Elisse con foro.psdElisse con foro.psdHello, in the attached file I designed two elissi on a transparent background. The smallest is positioned inside the largest. How do you proceed to color the interior of the large Elisse, however leaving the interior of the small Elisse empty? Thank you Elisse con foro.afpub
Staff NathanC Posted September 14, 2022 Staff Share Posted September 14, 2022 Hi @Carlo58, One way you can achieve this is by using the Xor operation, I followed the below in the attached file: Duplicate the smaller Ellipse Assign the Large Ellipse a Fill Select the Large Ellipse and one of the smaller Ellipses in Layers Layer > Geometry > Xor Elisse con foro.afpub Carlo58
v_kyr
OR ... Color Fill the larger ellipse, then select both ellipses in the layers panel (the bigger + smaller one) and perform a geometrical subtract operation on them "Layer > Geometry > Subtract". Afterwards the smaller one will disappear here then! Carlo58
Nathanc and V_kyr I thank you for your useful contribution. To the exclusive benefit of any other interested parties in the solution of my request, I add that regarding the (perhaps simpler) technique proposed by V_kyr, I have experienced that the level containing the small Elisse must be positioned above the level of the large Elisse. PixelPest
JAM-session (just another method): Fill both circles with any color you like - select the smaller one on top and set Blend mode to "Erase". Circles will stay intact and in parametric mode if you wish.
PixelPest
4 minutes ago, N.P.M. said: This way you can still move the smaller circle around when selected through the layerspanel. Even after Geometry->Subtract you can select move/alter the circles with the Node tool. Old Bruce
