Hey everyone!

It would be great to be able to manually reorder Symbols.

Right now, I can't change their order, which, when working with a lot of Symbols, gets confusing fast.

Maybe even different options would be useful:

- Order manually

- Order by name

- Order by layer depth

- Order by time created (right now, default and, in my opinion, least useful)

Best wishes,

Shu

Awesoe, thanks! Now I posted there as well! Don't know, sometimes I can't find topics via forum search, they only show up via Google.

You don’t need to post the same thing all over the place, just posting in one thread should be enough.

I gave the links to show that other people had already requested similar things to what you were requesting. (As per forum guidelines, threads should be added to rather than made anew.)

I found those threads by searching for symbol order so I don’t know what you were searching for.

The more threads we have about the same thing the more difficult it is for people searching for any answers, or official responses, which might exist.

Multiple threads for the same thing ‘dilutes’ the feedback from multiple users across disparate threads and makes it more difficult for Serif to judge the overall ‘weight’ of requirements for something. A dozen petitions with a hundred names on each is not as ‘weighty’ as a single petition with over a thousand names on it.

Not sure what caused my search to not yield the according results, but I found this happening from time to time. I posted a more detailed insight a few years ago, and I think it had something to do with needing to specify advanced search parameters, but I'm completely unsure where exactly that went. Nor do I remember what I had to specify.

I’ve never been entirely comfortable with the search functionality of these forums.
There are some weird inconsistencies that make me not trust it fully.

For example, if I type 3d move into the search box I get 26,483 results.
When I use the offered “3d OR move” suggestion link/button I get 26,483 results – same number.
When I use the offered “3d AND move” suggestion link/button I get 26,483 results – same number again.
When I type “3d AND move” 3d AND move into the search box I get 20,188 results – where have some results gone?

That’s just seems wrong to me. (I mentioned this in the forums a few years ago but I can’t be bothered to try and find the thread.)

If you included the " marks then that one is looking for the exact phrase "3d and move". None of the others is looking for that phrase.
