Zoom-in shortcut problem with JIS keyboard

Zoom-in shortcut should be ⌘= rather than ⌘+.
It's Ctrl = on Windows. why it's different on Mac?

Though ⌘= works with the US keyboard, it does not work with the JIS(Japanese) keyboard.

On JIS Keyboard,

- "=" is on the same key with "-."

- "+" is on the same key with ";."

The result is:
- ⌘= does not work.
- ⌘+(⌘⇧;) conflicts with the spell check.

I do not have a Japanese keyboard can you pleas try the following shortcut and see if this allows you to use the zoom shortcut

Changing the shortcut works.(I change it to ⌘=)
But that's not good for other Japanese users. it should work out of the box without changing the shortcut.
Many people are complaining it.

By the way, you can manually assign a keyboard type by using the Keyboard Setup Assistant if you have a 3rd party keyboard.

This is a critical problem for Japanese users.

Adobe and ClipStudio assign ⌘; to the zoom-in for Japanese.

If I set the keyboard type to JIS, Affinity changes the shortcut of the Zoom-in command to Ctrl ; automatically on Windows.
(it's conflicting with the Show Guides command though.)
Isn't this what supposed to be on Mac also?

FYI I suggest you to change the shortcut of the Show Guides command to Ctrl/⌘ : for the JIS keyboard like Adobe does.

This is how you set up the on-screen JIS keyboard by using an external keyboard.
The layout of the external keyboard doesn't matter. just trick the OS.
So you can emulate the JIS keyboard without having actual one.

This is how you set up the on-screen JIS keyboard on Windows.
(No extra keyboard necessary.)
Windows can not handle multiple keyboard layouts at the same time.
So you have to to switch it and restart the PC.

Once you have done the testing, switch it back.

It can handle multiple physical keyboard layouts, though I'm not sure about on-screen. And you can switch between them without a Restart. 

Pressing the Windows Key and the Spacebar brings up a selection list where you can choose which layout to use.

No, if you connect ANSI and JIS keyboard, you can use only either layout for the Japanese input.
As you see the Language Options screen, you have to choose either one and this is the limitation at OS level.
Even if you install other IME such as Google Japanese Input, it's the same.
Probably because the JIS keyboard is one of the most irregular keyboard in the world.
