ralph303 Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 I find it very annoying when working with web graphics, that Affinity Photo often zooms to fit the screen, instead of keeping the zoom at a level of 100 % (or at the previously used zoom level). For example when double clicking or when cropping the image, then the zoom level changes automatically. Please let the user disable this rather strange behaviour. PaoloT 1 Quote
AlainP Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 You can "Limit initial zoom to a maximum of 100%" under the General tab in Preferences. This will work for the initial opening, but once you used the "Crop Tool" it will zoom automatically to fill the screen. I would like it to stay at the same zoom level too. But sure what you mean by "this" but in 2.1 the Crop Tool maintains the zoom level after cropping, according to the release notes. ralph303 Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 That's a good point. I just installed 837 MB of updates, but unfortunately, it's still broken. Zoom level does not stay at 100 % when using the crop tool and in my installation, there is no "Limit zoom level" option in the general tab of the preferences. Quote

There will be no further functional enhancements to V1. ralph303 Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 That's nice for users of v2, but v2 is a different program which I don't own and which didn't even exist when I opened this issue. I bought Affinity Photo last year and hoped to get a crop function that is at least on par with Paintshop Pro 7 (released in the year 2000). It seems that I'll have to go back to PSP when doing a lot of cropping work, which is really sad. Quote

Welcome to the Affinity forums. It would be better for you to post that as a new topic in the Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows) forum, rather than tacking it onto this unrelated and old topic. Please be sure to tell us what OS you're using, too, and what version of Photo.
