View > Show Tools, perhaps?

But possibly something else would be better. Can you provide a screenshot of the application window in case that's not all you've done?

Margaret: You have posted your question in one of the “Bugs” sections of the forums and these are for reporting bugs, not for asking for help after an accidental user error.
Please don’t report issues as bugs until they are confirmed as actual bugs in the software.

A moderator will probably move this thread for you so there’s no need to duplicate this elsewhere.

Garry, so sorry about that.

Not a problem, and no harm done, I just thought it was worth pointing out for the next time. (Issues posted in the Questions section tend to get answered more quickly.)

One thing that often happens is that people accidentally press the Tab key which, temporarily, removes a lot of the UI.
Pressing the Tab key again should restore to UI back to normal.

Thanks Paul that's seems to have worked will try it later when I have more time  although when I change the persona the missing side tools are missing again strange yes Garry I think that's what happened and it was only some of them came up big so I just closed the tool window thinking it would come back as normal will try it all later.

Many thanks

That's why screenshots are useful, Margaret. We can recognize aspects of the problem you may not understand, rather than having to guess. (As well as making sure the right terminology is used, e.g., studio panels vs Tools). And if you use the wrong recovery method, it makes full recovery more difficult.
