joseph122
Hi all, As per the title, I am having trouble converting about a thousand photos to jpeg using the batch job function. It seems to always crash when 60+ images have been converted when I have all 1000 images selected as a batch job. However, I seem to be able to convert in smaller batches of say 150. Why is this the case and is there something I can do to get affinity to accept all 1000 images as a batch job? Some additional info: the source images are from a portable HDD, and I’m trying to export the jpgs to that same drive as well.
Staff stokerg Posted July 28, 2022 Staff Share Posted July 28, 2022 Hi @joseph122and Welcome to the Forums, Which model iPad are you using? The fact you can convert in smaller batches makes it sound like a resource issue more than anything.

Reading and writing so many files will create an enormous demand for power, if you don’t have the HDD powered externally then that could be exceeding the capability of the iPad USB C port to power it properly. If so try powering your HDD either directly or via a USB-C hub that can be powered. Am I out of luck or is a thousand photos simply too much for something this portable?
