So I have a shape that someone else created as a png. I want a circular border which I can apply affects to and make it 3D.  I created the border which I wanted.  I made the original shape an asset so it is already made into curves.  When I apply my affects it does not apply the affect to the border at all but around the border.  I did make the border black so you could see the shape but it's originally white.  Is there a specific process I have to follow to get the styles I want to apply to work with this image? I know that there is a rounded square in affinity designer but my rounded rectangle is the specific shape I need and it is not the same size as the one in affinity designer. Any help would be appreciated. The first image is what I am working with.  Second is what it does instead of applying the effect to the shape. Thanks!

Mel

Adding a png file to Assets does not make it a curve, it still remains and image, the only possibilities are to use a third-party app to trace the png to make it a vector, use the pen tool to follow the shape and make a curve or use the rounded rectangle shape, convert to curves and modify it using the node tool to fit your png file shape.

Image around border must be totally transparent.

Your shape is squircle/superellipse (iOS icon shape)? Vector templates can be downloaded.
