Amy Rose - Artist
Hello, I'm hoping you can help me. I am going to purchase affinity photo so that i can digitise my artwork and have greeting cards and other stationery items made. My question is...am i better to use my macbook pro (2012) with the software or my Dell windows laptop? My dell has a blue light filter/eye comfort coating factory applied to the screen so colours can look duller so i am leaning more towards the macbook but it is a late 2012 model. Would that affect anything? What are your experiences?
Pšenda
It depends on personal preferences. Try the trial version, and depending on which OS the application suits you best, then buy. Staff Dan C Posted May 3, 2022 Staff Share Posted May 3, 2022 Hi @Amy Rose - Artist, Welcome to the Affinity Forums I agree with Pšenda, the best way to find out is by trialling the applications on both systems and seeing which works best for you! You can access these trials from the below links: Photo - https://affinity.serif.com/photo/trial Designer - https://affinity.serif.com/designer/trial Publisher - https://affinity.serif.com/publisher/trial Pšenda 1 Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible. Many thanks! R C-R
@Amy Rose - Artist, in case it is not obvious to you, note that the licenses for Mac & Windows versions are sold separately & are not interchangeable/swappable from one platform to the other. So after testing each trial version (two separate downloads) do not assume you can buy one version & use it on both your Mac & Windows PC.
