Brushes not working on Pixel persona

Recommended Posts

Hi,

there are a few common reasons that brushes seem to stop working. Please try the following steps:

  • select Pixel Persona
  • Select pixel brush tool. Double check the correct tool is selected
  • Create a new basic round brush (may create new brush category)
  • create new pixel layer (top in layer stack). Double check blend mode normal, layer opacity 100%, blend range unmodified (reset all blend range options)
  • select white / black / grey color (contrasting to background) from existing swatches.double check color opacity is 100%.
  • set opacity, fill, hardness to 100%
  • deactivate protect alpha
  • In Photo: reset channels panel to activate all channels

if nothing helps, please make screenshots showing layer panel, color panel, navigator panel, color panel

We need to see several items, in a screenshot of the application workspace, to be sure.

Common issues are:

  • Protect Alpha turned on in the Context Bar.
  • Color opacity set to 0 in the Color studio.
  • No layer selected in the Layers panel.
  • Pixel layer nested within another layer/object, and trying to paint outside the parent.
  • Pixel selection active, and trying to paint outside the selection.
