Need vector tools in AD otherwise quite common in other programmes

Recommended Posts

I have purchased Designer for my PC and consider a copy for my Mac too but are a bit puzzled: I understand that these features are NOT available in AD hence kindly post this request:

1. Mesh Distort Tool and Warp (like in Inkscape and Illustrator)
2. Magnetic/sculpting mode (like in Inkscape and Illustrator)
3. The AD "Stroke Pressure" option is pretty useless: A tool like Stroke Width Tool in AD where you can manipulate parts of the stroke directly (like in Inkscape and Illustrator)
4. A decent Graph Tool like in AI
5. A Blend Tool like in AI (or Interpolate in Inkscape)

Why did you create this new thread ...

I understand. Eager to follow your kind suggestion -- and hoping to have understood the core idea appearently without a thorough read -- I rushed to "Feature Requests & Suggestions" section to accomplish my quest 😉

For an alternative ...

Thank you so much: A very cool finnish product I didn't know of!:)

I'll certainly run a trial on this interesting piece of software. It works appearently as a breeze with a very helpful and welcoming interface. I'm familiar with Inkscape and AI. Do you have an opinion on what you prefer in AD vs. VectorStyler?

Kind regards,
Raaskot

PS: Even though I unterstand by rumors (as of 2018) that the requested features are in the SF pipeline I have my doubts ...

@Raaskot, your welcome.

...Do you have an opinion on what you prefer in AD vs. VectorStyler? ...

In Affinity Designer i like Symbols and the Isometric Studio
and as a special mention the "Pixel Persona!".

Would not praise VectorStyler that much, it has also some quirks.
But in VectorStyler i like the Transform Cages, all kind of VectorLines/Curves editing
(Tip: in VS select a few vectornodes and align them with the Standard Align Tool!)

VS has so many cool Tools that i can not mention them all, if you could think of one
there is a good change that it is already build in. Take also a look at the "Repeater" in VS.
As you wrote that your already familiar with AI and Inkscape so i think
you will feel right at home in VS.
