Disabling floating windows as well as export&importing document presets.

Recommended Posts

Greetings, I have come simply to ask these two questions regarding the Windows 10 system.

1. Is it by any chance possible to disable floating windows? Trying to move them in the order that suits one better is starting to get quite difficult when the windows pop out non-stop. And if it isn't a possibility, please add it to the system.

2. I have heard of mac/ipad capabilities to import/export document setup, I use Designer most of the time where I create a bunch of new presets but once I come over to Photo I realise that they aren't saved over there as well. Any way to transfer them over on Windows?

You mean Styles? You can export them from Designer and import them to Photo and Publisher. The same with Assets. Click on the burger menu on the top left of the Styles or Assets panel. There are the options for it.

this will get you to the User Presets if you purchased Designer from Serif:

~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Designer/user/doc_spread_presets.propcol

this will get you to the User Presets if you purchased Designer from the Mac App Store:

~/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner/Data/Library/Application Support/user/doc_spread_presets.propcol

What you need is the location for Windows to put them into. Copy and paste the doc_spread... will obviously overwrite all the User Presets you have already saved for the Windows system.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

For Windows (and for Mac) the folder locations and file names are shown in this FAQ:

I think you're talking abour rearranging the document tabs for your open documents? If so, you just have to drag sideways carefully, making sure not to move the mouse up or down.

To request changes or improvements you need to post in the appropriate forum in Feature Requests & Suggestions, as that's where the appropriate Serif staff look for them. Ideally you will first Search for an existing request that someone has already entered, and add your agreement to that topic.
