Staff Dan C Posted July 19, 2022 Staff Share Posted July 19, 2022 Hi @Miltonc, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! Are you able to provide a copy of this .afpub file here for me? If you'd like a private link for the file that is not opening, please let me know. When you mention, 'refuse to open', are you seeing an error message on screen? If so, what does this read please? Many thanks in advance Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Miltonc
That is a second document I had opened in Designer at the same time. The image ur seeing is the same one I couldn't open in Publisher. Please ignore the unloaded images. I need to re-insert them so that is not the problem
Staff Dan C Posted July 21, 2022 Staff Share Posted July 21, 2022 Thanks for confirming that @Miltonc and my apologies for the delayed response. It's possible that Publisher has incorrectly cached a file, causing your document to fail to fully open. I'd like to try resetting your app back to default settings to remove this cached file. You can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open. Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. To backup such settings before resetting the app, please watch our Affinity Backing up app resources and factory reset video here - Once completed, does the document now open in Publisher?
