English/German comparison of terms used in Affinity-Photo

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Although German is my native language, I prefer the English version of Affinity-Photo.
I use tutorials and videos in both English and German.
It happens to me that I don't always know/understand the equivalent term/expression of the other language.

My question:
Is there somewhere a cross-reference/table for the specific terms used in Affinity-Photo for German/English?

Many thanks
Hilmar

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, Hilmar.

I've never seen anything exactly like that. If anyone has developed one I would expect to find it somewhere in the Resources forum.

Here's a search for Resources forum topics that mention German; perhaps something there will help: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&q=German&quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=11

Hi Walt!

Thanks for the link. Since I couldn't find anything suitable, I tried myself to do some improvisation with the language settings
A first result is attached.

Hallo @Hilmar,

NOPE!

So your best friend here is, to (re)use the Affinity Photo Online help files contents. And there then to switch between the german/english language for several used terms (Begrifflichkeiten) & explanations via the bottom languages choose toggle.

☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan
☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2

Or open two browser tabs, one in German and one in English.

You could even open two browser windows and position them side-by-side with both visible, one German and one English.
