I am unable to register my Affinity Designer app on my Windows computer.

Hello @ginaswindow

Start the app as administrator. Hold Shift + CTRL and start the app.

This is an Affinity problem. There are other thread going back some considerable time about this, with APhoto, ADes and APub. I bought ADes yeaterday from the site and have the same issue—so do many, many others. You are not alone. Appears also to be different between Windows and Mac.

We have confirmed previously that this started just after Christmas of 2021 due to an internal web certificate change. This issue is fixed in the next update for both Windows and Mac - however there are workarounds for both platforms offered here on the forums.

If you are using Windows, please restart the app as an Administrator, as outlined above. If you are using Mac, please see the below response to yourself in another thread:
