Paste charts in to Affinity Publisher

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to paste a chart or a graph from Excel in to Affinty Publisher in a format, in which it is possible to scale the chart without messing with the resolution. If i copy and paste it its getting exported as an jpg. Is there a better way to transfer a chart or a diagram from excel?

Hmm, does not seem to save as vectors ... Save as PDF and place it (Passthrough if you do not need edits) in APublisher. Hmm, it depends on the type of chart. 3D will be partially exported as bitmap, 2D not. At least from LibreOffice.

Using windows I select the chart in Excel, copy it then into affinity and do

Edit/Paste Special/Enhanced Windows Metafile

It'll need a bit of cleanup to remove white background and border but it's pretty quick; as joe_l says above, 3D effects will be rasterised. Simple example attached

I don't have Excel, I have Apple's Numbers. The charts from there can be exported as PDF which can be scaled quite easily in Publisher as they are vectors.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
