cgidesign Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Situation: I often open files via the "open with" function in Windows (e.g. in Explorer or a thumbnail viewer I navigate to a folder, right click a file, select open with Affinity App of choice). If I then like to save the file or export it, the Affinity Apps defaults to the "last used folder" but not the one from where the "open with" file came from. I would like the Apps to use the location where the opened file is located. Raff, Antony W and AdamStanislav 3 Quote
Antony W Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 I absolutely agree. In fact, I want that feature across all of Windows by default, although I recognise that might be a little beyond the powers of the Affinity team! Quote
cgidesign Posted February 20, 2022 Author Posted February 20, 2022 I agree as well regarding "all of Windows", but even if it would be in just the A apps, it would save me a lot of time. Antony W 1 Quote
Archangel Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 My export feature keeps defaulting to the Sytem32 folder, which is annoying but easy to work around. Export defaulting to a system folder is a little crazy . Quote
piiax Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Completely agree that 'export to original folder' should be an option. Quote
Raff Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 I completely agree! I have the same problem. It would be enough if they grouped the saving options (different formats) in the "save as" command, as almost all other software do. Using a double "save" and "export" command only creates complications. Antony W 1 Quote

Not all software does it, so it's clearly not actually necessary. Quote
