Hello again @Callum I have made the video and am uploading it now to the Dropbox link you gave me before called 'Original File from Les'

Thank you i'll pass this on to our QA team, just to clarify one final time as its not shown in the video. If you try to reposition one of the images that has moved does the app crash?

Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.

Hi @Callum I am also uploading to Dropbox the file used in that video, which is derived from an original .afpub file I sent before created in version 1.9 - but the file is still crashing in 1.10. And I attach today's crash reports.

Thank you for your attention to this issue.

I regret to say, @Callum that I have reproduced the crash behaviour with version 1.10.5 and with a new file created in version 1.10.5.  I admit I was using the program rather roughly but it shouldn't happen. I think it is may be due to inserting large photos with very high dpi and scaling them down.

I have a video of it.

Embedded images rather than linked ones @Callum

Hi Lesbillbell,

The latest file you have sent seems to be from after your images have moved as attempting to move any of them crashes the software if possible could you provide a copy of it prior to the images moving on re-open and a copy of one of the images you are adding so I can recreate your workflow here?

Thanks for your continued patience

Hi @Callum I do not have a copy of a previous version of the file but I dare say I could create a new file and reproduce the error. However the file the new incidental marshman.afpub did have 'save history with document' enabled so please could your team start work with that? Did I upload that? I can upload the video of it crashing, I don't think I have done so yet. It looks very like the file created in 1.10.4, but was newly created in 1.10.5 by importing the same word document.

Your dmp files both indicate the same crash in libStory.dll due to a read access violation here. - That won't tell you here much, but the Affinity DEV & QA team can probably make more out the stackwalk then.

Thanks - but when will the QA team come out of their burrow and tell me their findings, @Callum?

Granted, @v_kyr but I've been waiting for them since before 30 March.

Can't tell, they might have just forgotten to look after it, due to other common daily work, or maybe some people are on vacation etc. - All in all I don't know how their ticket system & todo lists look like.

Many thanks, @Callum.

I've just spent an hour with a senior member of staff looking into this issue and unfortunately we have had no luck finding a solution we are escalating this up the chain so hopefully I should have an answer for you soon. I'll do my best to provide a daily update on our progress with this here in this thread.

Thanks again @Callum

In order to help our QA team understand how this file got into this state. Are you able to easily replicate this each time with a brand new document? If so would you be able to provide a screen recording demonstrating the entire process of recreating this issue? I think without this information it's going to be very hard for us to diagnose the cause of this issue.

Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.

I'm sorry, @Callum I think you asked me that before. Yes I will try to do so within the next 24 hours.

I think the recording provided in the past starts with a pre-made file as opposed to starting one from scratch at least as far as I can see from the video uploaded to our DropBox last.

That is correct @Callum. I understand what you require. Can a thread like this be renamed, as its name refers to 1.10.4 and I found the issue on 1.10.5 also?

Done :)

Dear @Callum I no longer have the time or energy for this. I have quite forgotten how, exactly, I imported the content and made it autoflow correctly. If I can't even reproduce that, I can't go go on to the photo problem.

If you want to improve your product, and the information I have already given is not enough, it is not me who must try harder.

The issue is unlikely to trouble me again as I won't be doing such heavily illustrated books in future.

Best regards

Les
