Tool icons are gray?

I could have sworn before the latest update that my tool icons were in color, rather than gray. Am I missing something? Is there a way to make them color, as the gray is a bit difficult for me to see.

Do you have a document open? The icons are only coloured when they’re available for use in the current context.

In addition to what @Alfred said, check in "Preferences", "User Interface" that the case "Monochromatic Iconography" is not checked.
