Smudge Tool riping paint off to expose background

Hello @PatPro,
welcome to this forum.
I don't think it's your tablet, it's probably a bug in Affinit Photo.
Try the following.
Enable High Precision in Preferences-Tools - Tablet Input Methode,
or use the latest beta version (1.10.5.1227) click here.

I hope this helps.

Seems to be a bit better but im still getting ripping of paint that exposes the background with the marker brush and acrylics brush...

Does not happen with all the brushes though... Maybe we will see a fix... hopefully

if anyone else smudges with the acrylic brush do you get this effect?

For what it is worth I can do this on Mac OS 11.6.2 with a Wacom tablet.

Do you see on the context toolbar the little (I don't know what it is called) Pen & Tablet icon on its own with no More button.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
