Smudge Tool riping paint off to expose background

Here you can see what is happening... This is a very annoying problem.

Hello @PatPro,
welcome to this forum.
I don't think it's your tablet, it's probably a bug in Affinit Photo.
Try the following.
Enable High Precision in Preferences-Tools - Tablet Input Methode,
or use the latest beta version (1.10.5.1227) click here.

Seems to be a bit better but im still getting ripping of paint that exposes the background with the marker brush and acrylics brush...

Does not happen with all the brushes though... Maybe we will see a fix... hopefully

if anyone else smudges with the acrylic brush do you get this effect?

For what it is worth I can do this on Mac OS 11.6.2 with a Wacom tablet.

Do you see on the context toolbar the little (I don't know what it is called) Pen & Tablet icon on its own with no More button.

It is most definitely a bug @PatPro. I reported this about 2 years ago and it was confirmed by the Serif staff as well.
 

I hope that they will start fixing some of these bugs that I have reported. I have a bunch that haven't been addressed yet and this is one of the more major ones.
