Matthias
Why isn’t the first page of a document already an artboard? Or simply a “page” which I find the more fitting term. Why do we have a visible pasteboard only if we convert our document to an elevated state where multiple areas/artboards/pages come into being? As it is now the first first page isn’t even converted into an artboard once I decide to have more than one page. This is not only confusing but also adding unnecessary steps. I think this is partly owed to the artboard-is-another-kind-of-layer paradigm. I suggest that every new document starts as an artboard (with a surrounding pasteboard). When I wanted to add another page there’d be a menu entry and a “+” button in the Layers panel to do just that. It would produce a new, identically sized page. If I wanted it differently sized I’d change it in the Transform panel (or – Please! – in the Context Toolbar). Alternatively I’d draw a second page from scratch with the Artboard tool. Makes sense? 00Ghz
Agree. Right now you can’t get access to the pasteboard as well without an artboard being created by default.
