I like to know if it's possible to make gradient feather photos inside Publisher, like in InDesign?

It's not obvious to me how those screenshots are related to your question. Can you provide more details (what you were doing, what release of the program you're using, what release of Windows, etc.)? Also, perhaps, some screenshots or a video of what you were doing before the crash.

From your example it looks like you are just fading (adding transparency) the picture from one side to the other. If that is what you want to do, just add a mask and add a black/white gradient to the mask. (Or use shades of grey for a subtler effect.)

It's the wineglass tool which does the exact same thing and by grouping you can add multiple grad fades
