As an example, I'll use my favorite brush.

She is working very poorly in affinity as evidenced by the first screenshot.

The second screenshot shows the same brush in Procreate, and she works exactly the same way in Photoshop.

it's not just a huge difference, affinity completely breaks the brush

For digital artists, affinity remains a useless application precisely because of the curve of the mechanics of the brushes.

And that is very sad, because in all other respects this is the best application.

Hi @Julia04,

Would you be able to upload the brush shown in your screenshot to our Dropbox here and i'll be able confirm if this is expected behaviour with this type of brush or if its a bug and needs logging with the Dev team.  Most PS brushes are compatible with Affinity but its possible these are using a feature we don't support yet.

Hopefully devs can improve PS brush compatibility.
Have you tried the available Affinity brushes? The Pencil brushes, natural pencil 2b and 4b give very similar finish to your sample.

@DM1 Yes, I've tried affinity brushes. They have very poor pressure sensitivity. It is impossible to control the painting of the object correctly. Especially when you're trying to make a beautiful color transition without dirt.

@DM1 2b gives an unnecessary and seamless (which is completely not usable when painting) texture
whereas the original brush can give both texture and full shading, depending on the pressure
