I am preparing an print for a file but I can't seem to creat a pdf with bleed. I have done this before on previous versions of affinity software but it will not do it for this file268334455_Screenshot2021-06-29at19_19_58.thumb.png.c85ebdb66d21f0c9db835f94ec4a1f8d.png470437803_Screenshot2021-06-29at19_20_43.thumb.png.7e4dea44971fa0ff1032b96124ed9919.pngBut when I create a new one to test. it works. Which application, Designer, Photo or Publisher? I think some people have reported difficulties like this with Artboards in Designer.

Now for my stupid question: Does the black area actually go outside the canvas area? I am pretty sure it does but I have to ask as I have been caught out by that.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

In the first image the dark area should extend beyond the crops (including the bleed that I can see on screen).

The bleed of the grey area in the second image is correct. The file was created in designer and has the same problem in photo and publisher.

This has always been a problem when using Artboards in Designer - sometimes they'd work sometimes not - my old (pre-publisher) workaround was to split up muti artboard documents in to single (non artboard) documents,. Now everything I create which goes to press is output from Pub as it's pretty solid regarding bleed.

Maybe sometime in the future they'll figure out a way to have viewable bleed in artboards and maybe even a printable slug area?

I have sorted it. If you're interested, I had a vignette that I applied with af photo. It had to be rasterised with the layers it was affecting. Now the bleed is included.

It may be an idea for serif to have af photo live filters include the bleed that designer files may have. Or have the live filters in af designer
