i need help please with affinity photo - im trying to cut around a image and when i copy and paste there is a white line

First and foremost, is what you're trying to select a Image layer or a Pixel layer? It must be a Pixel layer to create a new Pixel layer from.

As Pruus suggests, provide the afphoto file, or a screenshot that includes the layers panel, or a short screencast showing what your doing.

Thanks for your help however as I am a newbie i have no idea whether it is a image or a pixel layer.

all i wanted to do was cut out around a persons face and cut and paste that for different background settings.

 

Can you please advise as to how i would get the information on whether or not i am using a image or pixel layer.
