Quality Jpeg and Film Simulations Fuji Camera

Recommended Posts

Can someone please tell me how to get better quality and weight in jpeg?
To upload photos on Pexels a minimum of 5MB is required and I do not get that with the maximum quality selected when exporting from Affinity Photo.

Also I can't find the option to choose the simulations of my Fujifilm camera.

What resolution is your image? You can check using Document menu Resize.

do you have information about the Film Simulations?

Could you explain a little more what you are referring too? LUT's?

camera profiles like classic chrome, astia, velvia. Where can I find them?

I'd assume those profiles are 'added' by your camera and are not relevant to 'raw' images which consists of only ‘captured' data. If your camera outputs images with profiles added, what format are they? If jpg/tiff/png you can use them to 'infer' a LUT ( look up table) which are probably the equivalent of your cameras ‘profiles'. You can also check out the Resources thread and download the Haldclut folder of LUTs which contains various Fuji film filters (LUTs) which can be applied in AP.

thanks this can be useful, but what i'm looking for is a simple option to choose the integrated camera profiles that fujifilm offers when developing the raw file.  Hopefully, they can integrate that option soon.

as I am a fuji photographer (analogue as well as digital) I was interested in your topic - at the moment I only do vector graphics in AD but in the future it might be interesting for me, so I did a quick google search and found this: https://blog.sowerby.me/fuji-film-simulation-profiles/

could be helpful....

dmtp posted a link above to Fuji simulations. I've put the 3dl versions into Affinity and exported the category. If you wish you can import them in your LUT presets. The Raw photo should be 'developed' with no changes, then the desired lut applied. You can see the effect applied in attached screen recording.

thank you so much, they look amazing!! So I downloaded your file because I wanted to test with one of my fuji raws immediately:-) but I dont know how to import...no, thats not true: I know how to import (lut...import) but the file is grayed out...what am I doing wrong?

edit: Now I searched the forum and read about problems of cube files being grayed out....but I even dont get there to see the cubes.files....

The original posting did not have any .cube files; it had PNG files (that can be used for Infer LUT processing) and .3dl files. The .3dl files are usable by the desktop version of Photo, but I don't know if the iPad version of Photo can use those.

The post above by @DM1 provided a .afluts file. On the desktop, we have two choices when importing LUTs via the Adjustment panel:

  • Number 1 below would be used for a .cube (or .3dl) file.
  • Number 2 below would be used for a .afluts file.

I'm not sure what options you have available on the iPad, but perhaps this will help you find the right one.

oh no, that would be a pity if it did not work with the ipad version....but I am afraid it looks like that ....I have only one option for import, its "lut import"...thank you anyway for trying to help!

You're welcome.

You might try downloading the 3dl version from the original posting. Perhaps they will work on the iPad.

They work fine on iPad. Try the instal process shown below.🙂
I've added Stuart’s Xtrans II profiles to my earlier post. Appears a little softer/less bright effect, but still quite nice.
