Close Multiple Images

Recommended Posts

I used this quite a bit in photoshop - under the File menu - Close All. I don't see an option for it in Affinity Photo desktop.

The photoshop option has a checkbox to apply your choice whether to save all images before closing or not.

The option does not exist but has been requested in the past

The nearest you can get now is to close the program, which will ask you if you want to save modified files.

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Sadly, this elementary function is not available even after so many years. Even 5 years was not enough for developers to implement this High-Tech technology. Really sad 😞

Windows

I see. Can't help with that, sorry.

So just for the record:
On Mac, option-click the red close button should usually close all open app windows. This is a system wide MacOS function. Unfortunately it doesn't work in Affinity apps, as it seems, because they are using some kind of a custom UI and not the system frameworks.

So if you are using the Separated Mode and have multiple windows open, the trick is to select Window > Merge All Windows to put all windows into a single window as tabs, then click the red close button.

In the Standard mode – the "monolithic" app window – it's a no-brainer: clicking the red button will close everything while keeping the app running.
