Deselect Keyboard Shortcut Doesn't Work

Version 1.9.1/1.9.7 (?) - Have item selected, hit CMD-D, it will not deselect. I have to switch to Move Tool (V) and click on background, which then takes me out of the group I was working on.

CMD-W to close the window works, so it's not the keyboard. CMD-D works on Mac.

Maybe I have missed something but has this issue been fixed? I have just tried to use the shortcut for this and nothing happened. (Still works by manually tapping the”x”) 

I’m guess this must have been fixed by now as the last message on this forum was more than a year ago, I’m probably missing something.

It's particularly gallingly tone-deaf after getting the email yesterday asking to help them improve customer service, where they state that they've relied of valuable feedback in these forums.

Yeah I am starting to loose my patience with this software. As soon as Adobe get something competitive and complete on IPad I am probably moving back. After a while of trying to use Affinity in a professional context you realize how sophisticated Adobe products are. affinity are wasting a golden opportunity here by not using the system they have set up to listen to users and improve their product. I guess they are just building it up to sell off to a larger competitor or something. Reading these forums is just quite depressing seeing the lead times that existing issues still have after they were initially raised.

The issue "[iOS] Hardware keyboard issue: Deselect command doesn't work for objects, only pixel selections" (REF: AF-1092) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.3.0.2139".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
