If you add Effects on a grouped text frame the Special characters are not showing.

Another problem is with Coping and pasting style on another object, the numbers are almost double in settings.

There is no active Publisher Beta program on Windows right now. You should probaly be using the retail 1.9.1 version, and then reporting this in the standard Publisher Bugs found on Windows forum to ensure that it is properly tracked and handled by the Serif team.
