bcposi
I've duplicated a layer and then locked the original to prevent changes. When I select a shape on the new layer and choose "Same fill and stoke", it also selects shapes on the original layer even though it is locked. Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @bcposi. Much to the consternation of many users, ‘locking’ a layer only prevents its being transformed, deleted, or selected on the canvas. It doesn’t prevent selection by other means (which is probably just as well, since it needs to be selectable in the Layers panel so that it can be unlocked). bcposi
Is there any way to not have it selected? I've tried locking the layer and even hiding the layer (making it not visible) but that doesn't work either. The object still get selected automatically and changed when I adjust the selected objects.
Staff Sean P Posted March 11, 2021 Staff Share Posted March 11, 2021 Hi bcposi, Unfortunately this is not currently possible, however I'll get it passed on to development as an improvement. bcposi

This seems like a bug rather than an improvement issue. lepr 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
