Affinity Photo ignoring iOS edits

Recommended Posts

Hi,

i am experiencing the issue in subject whatever the editing app i use (so i guess it is something at the operating system level). For, instance, if use Focos to add a bokeh effect and save the edited picture, when i open it in Affinity Photo the bokeh is being removed. Same thing with cropping made in the Apple Photo app, so when the cropped image is imported in Affinity Photo it’s being restored to its original un-cropped version.

WTF i thought this was intentional? seriously?

iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation)

MacBook (Early 2015)

iPadOS 13.5 (iPad top-button broken, constantly pressed, I am using a boot-workaround to get the ipad out of a boot loop, and scared that a newer version of iOS could brick the iPad) / Always running the latest apps

This is intentional, Affinity using import from photos always accesses the RAW original  image.

If you want to access the image processed by photos or other apps, simply use drag and drop from photos into Affinity to access the JPG version.

Hmm, at least this how it used to work.

Affinity Photo 1.9 beta, Designer 1.9 beta, Publisher 1.9 beta on MACOS Big Sur beta on Macbook 2016 and M1 Mac Mini 16GB 1TB (Superb!)
Affinity Photo 1.9 beta, Designer 1.9 beta, Publisher 1.9 beta on Windows 10 Pro.
Affinity Photo 1.8, Designer 1.9 beta on iPad Pro 9.7" on iPadOS 14.6 beta.
