When I've finished editing a RAW file and save in .afphoto format, is there any way of re-editing that file later and fine-tuning the sliders? Or are the adjustments that I made 'baked in' to the .afphoto file?

Second question - is it possible to reset that file back to the start?

Thanks.

Hi @Katieb12345,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
The adjustments are baked in after you press Apply in Develop Persona. If you go back to Develop Persona after doing it, it will start as if it was a new image (with the previous adjustments baked in). There's no way to reset them (other than loading the original RAW file again). We hope to improve this in future versions.

If whilst still in the Develop persona, you totally mess up the adjustments and want to reset everything, then rather than having to reload the raw file you can reload the initial snapshot of the raw file which is created automatically when you first open the raw file.

Snapshots also allow you to make different adjustments to the raw file (different slider setting etc) so you can easily switch between them to compare the different settings. Switching between snapshots also maintains the various slider settings for that snapshot to allow easy tweaking etc.

Unfortunately, once developed and then re-entering the develop persona there is no way to reaccess those snapshots which makes what should have been a great feature a somewhat disappointing one.

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

I never noticed that the Develop Persona had a Snapshot panel until you mentioned it. You are right that it could have been much more useful!
