BigDon
After making a selection with the patch tool that is larger than about 1-inch square (650mm) Affinity Photo will crash when attempting to move the area into my target area, invariably. I was of the position that it may have been the photo I was working on because it began crashing whilst working on another restoration yesterday. I was able to complete the project after a LOT of restarts of Affinity. However, today I began a new project and 10 minutes into the task, whilst making a patch tool selection, it crashed again. I am working on a 300 dpi (4167x3313) RGB 16-bit photo on a Macbook Pro, Catalina version 10.15.7 with 16GB of ram. I have attached the file I was working on. Thanks, 6.afphoto Edited February 16, 2021 by BigDon Adding Thanks.

I select the area I want patched and move my mouse cursor over the area I want use as the patch. BigDon
As do I. However when I click to close the selection, the application will crash. I know HOW to use the patch tool...the problem is it is crashing, especially if the area chosen is fairly large, like I said, about an inch square. If you look at the file I have attached, there is a long defect in the center of the male's forehead. When I select that entire area and move to the region I want to have pasted into that area, it will crash.

BigDon
The only file in that location was the .plist file. It is attached. I also have attached the contents of the pop-up that appears after an app crashes for sending the report to Apple. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks. Sanjay
Hello, I am also facing problems with Affinity Photo for the last one month while using patch tool and also in converting Raw Images to JPG in the batch process. Please suggest if there is any solution to correct it. Thank you.

Making the change to OpenGL made the difference. The patch was applied automatically and did not cause the application to crash. The unusual thing is, AP automatically configured this setting when I installed it. The only settings I have changed on that particular tab was for the undo cache and memory usage, etc. The graphics driver was not changed from the way it was originally installed. But...all seems to work as I suppose it is supposed to for this particular issue however. Thanks for the assistance. Chris B
