Down loaded latest version for windows yesterday 4th Feb 21, working on photo and whole system keeps shutting down off current workload while editing photos.

reopen and lost selection of open files.

Has now done it four time.

Do you have any further info to share, like what you were doing at the time?

Do you have any crash reports in %APPDATA%\Affinity\Photo\1.0\CrashReports\reports that you could upload?

For me it helped to delete the folder and start Foto again.

Folder structure:
%APPDATA%\Affinity\Photo

Completely delete Photo, hope can help others with the help position.

I was able to work in the programme again, but the performance is really worse than before and rather 3 steps back than before, Serif must improve on Windows.

In the studio views, change individual tabs - system crashes for a few minutes and so I can't work and I can't get any further. Because I have to restart. Unfortunately, no reports are produced. Folder is empty.

All the improvements are of no use if you can't work with the programme.

My system

- AMD Ryzen 3700x
- RX 5700 XT
- 32 GB RAM
- SSD (:C)

Most people are enjoying better performance with GPU acceleration (my machine is approx 7.5X faster now), but it looks like we're experiencing some problems with AMD RX & Ryzen combinations. We'll look into this. In the meantime can you take a screenshot of the results from Help | Benchmark (make sure that Hardware Acceleration is enabled still in preferences).

Also, can you describe your workflow a little? How and when are you experiencing performance problems?

Finally, try disabling HW acceleration, and see if that fixes the performance problems.

I too am having issues with photo crashing for no obvious reason. It appears to be totally random. I can edit a photo successfully, then the next will freeze my computer. Ctrl, alt, delete will not take me out of the program. If I force start program will work fine for a while then the same thing happens again. This is very important for me as it's the only program that I use for Sony RAW files. My computer is HP all in one device. Photo has worked perfectly since installing the very first release an has always upgraded successfully until now

I've got similair problems since the latest update to 1.9.

The performance is a lot slower than before the update and the program crashes every few minutes. It seems totally random to me. Sometimes, during changing the tool. sometimes changing the layer or trying to add a layer to a group or choosing a mask.

I've got Windows 10 x64, Lenovo IdeaPad S340 and never had problems with the versions before.

The problem is when the CL acceleration is activated, Photo crashes as far as changing a TAB in the studio. Benchmark could be run.Now turn Open CL off again.

The sceenshot shows the benchmark with Open CL and without and then how it crashes.

What is the solution from a professional?
What disadvantages do I have now if I do not set the check mark?2089287985_BenchmarkzeroOpenCL.thumb.jpg.ca657b7af770a34ae5decb908ef49935.jpg183069899_OpenCLCrash.thumb.jpg.a9933e437d1a11570eb87705220b55eb.jpg1978173528_OpenCLOn.thumb.jpg.beeca8030844bd60a8c2cdd94f230113.jpg

I am not using anything else at the time, select list of raw files to carry out new batch to convert into affinity files and jpeg,  does about 4 files and stops working, next thin affinity photo application shuts down / crashes., do not know how to get any reports

Press Windows key + E to open explorer, then paste %APPDATA%\Affinity\Photo\1.0\CrashReports\reports into the address bar and hit enter. You may see a bunch of files ending in .dmp in there. If so, can you upload the most recent to here please.

Hi mark these are all the files dated from start of Feb 21 , this all started after I updated to new version, the program stops or freezes then whole app shuts down, most recent was last night when trying to run new batch of raw files to affinity files and jpeg work flow, saved four photos and crashed, ended up having to do 1 at at time which is quite time consuming as you can imagine lol.  especially when i go on a shoot could end up with 100 to 500 shots.

Thanks @Gordon Hamilton. The first crash report I looked at indicates that the window was resized, and the graphics driver failed to handle the new window size. After you experience a crash, could you also upload the log file, as it may contain some additional info.

%APPDATA%\Affinity\Photo\1.0\Log.txt

Also, you may find that uninstalling and reinstalling your graphics driver will fix this issue, or you can try changing your Renderer in the Preferences.

I have the same problem, batch job is crashing the application. Used to be able to select 50 psd files (~60mb each) and do a batch job; now I can't do it with even only 10. I have crash reports, where should I upload them?

Also, how do I roll back to a previous version? this caught me by surprise and I need to convert large amounts of psd files to do my job.
