h_d
Hi, This probably something of an edge case as it's not often you'd want to blur and sharpen the same image, but here goes... Open an image, apply a Gaussian Blur layer effect (I set the blur to around 0.8px and checked Preserve Alpha): Apply a High Pass Live Filter. Adjust radius to bring out contrast. A black border starts to appear around the image, increasing in thickness as the radius is increased: Set blend mode of live filter to Soft Light (Overlay, Hard Light, Vivid Light will also work): Close live filter dialog, zoom in and out of image. Transient rectangles with borders of various thicknesses come and go across the image: Select the image layer and Merge Visible: Yikes. I've attached the .afphoto doc. It appears to happen with any image, in both release (1.8.6) and beta versions of Photo. I'm running macOS 11.0.1 Big Sur. Cheers, H yikes.afphoto IPv6 1 Affinity Photo 2.0.3, Affinity Designer 2.0.3, Affinity Publisher 2.0.3, Mac OSX 13, 2018 MacBook Pro 15" Intel. p_mac
I noticed this post and was interested in testing this. What h_d described above happens, but then I tried to see what would happen if I moved this out of the child position and place it above, the black lines disappear. As well, in the child position if you remove the Preserve Alpha the line disappear. But with preserve alpha on the lines also disappear as you move the strength up and beyond 25 points. Thought that this might be of interest. Not trying to take away from the fact that it is happening and it should not. Just a little more information.
