A_B_C Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Hi there, I know these two things have been requested in the past, but let me just ask again if you consider to put them on the improvements list … At first, what I really (I mean, really) miss, is the option to constrain the brush movement to horizontal or vertical direction by holding down the Shift key. This option is so handy for creating a quick fade on an image edge, for example, and I don’t think that it interferes with the current UI / shortcut logic. Secondly, what I miss as well, is the option to create a selection using a rectangular marquee, and clone this selection using the arrow keys while holding the Option key. I don’t think this option would interfere with the current UI / shortcut logic as well. Please consider to implement these two options … it’s somewhat strange that effective workflows just hinge on such little things, but nevertheless … Cheers, Alex :) anon1 and Lojza 2 Quote

LoBu Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Click once, then move to a new point, hold down the Shift key and click again. The first point is connected to the second point by a straight line. Quote
LilleG Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 That will give you a straight line; it won't necessarily give you a level line. It's handy for certain things but we need the constrain option as well. A_B_C 1 Quote
Madame Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Yes to what LoBU says. If you make your selection and hold down cmd, you can use the arrow keys to move/clone the selection. -If I understand your question right. ;) Quote - Affinity Photo 2.3.0 - Affinity Designer 2.3.0 -Affinity Publisher 2.3.0 MacBook Pro 16 GB MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2

Thanks for your reply, LoBu … I know that, but as LilleG says, it won’t give you a level line, so this is not an applicable method in the cases I intend here … :( If you make your selection and hold down cmd, you can use the arrow keys to move/clone the selection. -If I understand your question right. Of course, you can move the selection by doing so … but unfortunately the content of your selection will not get copied to the new place, but just get moved there … cloning is something different, as it implies creating a copy … :( Thanks nevertheless for your answers … cheers, Alex :) Quote
LoBu Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 My suggestion is not the same, I know, but it's actually better than nothing. Quote
