I spent 20 mins searching in preferences, user interface and help and can not find the answer to this simple simple Oh so simple question.........How on earth do I set the default measurements in document setup and to be the default anywhere else for that matter to be in centimetres instead of millimetres? Preferences would be the most logical place, but Nope. Edited, no need for second question. Many appreciations Quote Microsoft - Like entering your home and opening the stainless steel kitchen door, with a Popup: 'Do you really want to open this door'? Then looking for the dishwasher and finding it stored in the living room where you have to download a water supply from the app store, then you have to buy microsoft compliant soap, remove the carpet only to be told that it is glued to the floor.. Don't forget to make multiple copies of your front door key and post them to all who demand access to all the doors inside your home including the windows and outside shed. Apple - Like entering your home and opening the oak framed Kitchen door and finding the dishwasher right in front you ready to be switched on, soap supplied, and water that comes through a water softener. Preferences would be the most logical place, but Nope. You create your own Preset for File > New, or your own Template, and specify the unit you want in that Preset or Template. Then use that Preset oyf Template when creating the document. You'll also need to check Preferences, as there is a Preference for whether lines and fonts are measured in Points or in the document units. You may need to set that appropriately. In most of my work (in Publisher) I would like to have the document units in mm and lines and text in pt. Is that possible without switching all the time via 'document setup'? Set your document to mm as the units but be sure to have the Preferences > User Interface checking the items for Lines and Text in points. Christian R Posted December 16, 2020 Share Posted December 16, 2020 There's one thing what anoys me, maybe it's also possible to change it, although I couldn't find it. When I start with a new document in Publisher and/or Designer, both apps start with mm which is great. But when I open a document which I got from someone to work on, both apps are showing the sizes in points... Is it possible to change that?
