macnavi
On the Mac, I'm used in most programs to hold alt when resizing and dragging from a corner, the image will then resize from the centre, instead pulling it in one direction. This doesn't work in Affinity Photo. I would appreciate it this simple, but very useful feature could be added in a future update.
carl123
Try using the CTRL key (Windows) or it might be the CMD key on a MAC (don't have one of those). macnavi
True, it works with the Command key on the Mac. I thought I had tried that, but clearly not well. But I leave my request in place to get this function under the alt key, instead of cmd. The classic thing the Mac is known for is that when there is a standard, all other programs follow that standard. Being the only app to use another key for a certain function is in a way, not done. The command key is for short-cuts, or combined actions with the alt key, but not for stand alone action like this. Fixx

Macs don't have an alt key; it is option. On some Mac keyboards the option key also has "alt" labeled on it for the benefit of people who run Windows on their Macs in a VM or bootcamp or who access them remotely for some reason or another. Regardless, this topic has come up numerous times and Serif has already responded that it was done this way for a reason and will evidently stay this way:
disco solipsism
Just going to give my two cents and concur wholeheartily with the notion of giving the option to use the default mac key modifiers. I appreciate that this may upset other Affinity-centric key combinations, but dragging and resizing objects is a core, much used operation. I just discovered in another thread that I can recover the default shift behaviour of constraining the object ratio when resizing under preferences > tools > Move tool aspect constrain: Do not constrain by default. It would be great if there was a similiar preference for the option key. Not going to hold my breath though from looking at the initial post date of the above quoted thread.
