Joining vector shapes - unexpected result

Recommended Posts

What method do you use to join the curves?
Maybe your Layers Panel gives a hint: it says "(Kurven)" which means there is more than 1 object in this layer.
The straight line in your result may indicate that there is a curve which was not closed before the merge.

Here it appears to work with two "(Curve)" layers as expected with geometry > add.

  1. Created circles (no fill and a black 1.5mm stroke)
  2. Created both lines with a black 1.5mm stroke
  3. Selected all layers and expanded strokes
  4. Used Layers > Geometry > Add
