Otto Manuel
Hi, I occasionally make polygon shapes, that I want to keep as a polygon or at least a vector curve, and then rotate them. On these occasions I find that the Cycle the Selection Box function can be useful, but I can not get the new orientation to stick. Each time I make a small edit, the selection box's orientation goes back to the original state. For example; I make a "perfect" hexagon and rotate it 30 degrees, the selection box rotates with it. I can Cycle the Selection Box to see the pertinent X and Y characteristics, and I would like to commit to using the new selection box as the default. Can I do this? If so how? Thank you. Alfred
Place another shape on top: either a larger shape which completely encloses the hexagon or a smaller shape which is completely enclosed by it, and then select both the hexagon and the new shape. If using a larger shape, choose the ‘Intersect’ Geometry operation; if using a smaller shape, choose ‘Add’. The resultant shape will have its rotation set to 0°. lepr
If you select just the polygon, then you can do a Boolean Add with only that object, and that'll convert it to a Curve object with zero rotation. GarryP

Hi @anon2, Thank you. That seems like a simple and effective solution. Hi @Alfred Thank you for the suggestions and explanation.

Thanks for the reminder: I don’t know why I keep forgetting that method! It’s only slightly simpler than adding an extra object, but it’s always good to save unnecessary steps.
