Jaspero Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 I will be working at the yearbook of my graduation class and we chose to use Affinity Publisher for that. I was wondering if it's possible to use the program on two different computers (both mac) with the same license. Also, if that were the case, would it be possible to use both programs at the same time? Quote
walt.farrell Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Perhaps you can install it on multiple computers. You can install an Affinity application on any computer (of the same ecosystem) that you own or control, if the program is not used for commercial purposes or if you are the only one using it for commercial purposes. If that allows you to install it on multiple computers, you can use them all at the same time. I suspect from your question that you're looking at multiple Mac computers owned by a school, and if that is the case then the license terms would be different. You can read the Windows version of that license (the Mac should be the same, substituting Mac for Windows), which says: Quote (iii) if you are an educational institution, to download, install, use and run, one (1) copy of the Serif Software for use either: (a) by a single individual on each of the Windows Computer(s) that they use that you own or control, or (b) by multiple individuals on a single shared Windows Computer that you own or control. For example, a single student may use the Serif Software on both the student’s desktop Windows Computer and laptop Windows Computer, or multiple students may serially use the Serif Software on a single Windows Computer located at a resource centre or library. Under those license terms, if the school owns the computers, I think that you would need multiple licenses if multiple students are going to use the program on multiple computers (whether the program is used simultaneously or not). I'm sure someone from Serif can provide additional information. ProfHartmanKart Posted January 11 Posted January 11 New here. Student Macs / Same License??? I am faculty at a small college and we will be using Affinity apps for first time in a MacLab of 18 seats. I would recommend you create your own topic, to ensure it is noticed and handled properly, rather than simply adding on to a 4-year-old inactive topic. emmrecs01 1 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
