Ami_M
Hi again, I have created a curve that I wish to wrap my text to - I've attached some images to highlight what I've done, and made the curve bright pink so it's quite obvious where it is. 😊 I am trying to wrap the text into the curve of the man's arm, but with the 'Tight' text wrap setting selected and applied to the curve, the text is jumping to below the curve instead of above it, regardless of whether 'Both Sides' or 'Largest Side' is selected. I am sure I am missing something very simple but I would really appreciate some assistance! Many thanks, Ami
Ami_M
I'll also just add this picture, showing where the rest of the text is with those settings applied!
walt.farrell
I think you may want Edge, rather than Tight. And you may also need to edit the wrap outline. jmwellborn
@walt.farrell is correct.  Also it works rather better to choose WRAP TO BOTH SIDES.  Then you can adjust your type in all directions  Here are two examples of how to do this.  I used the Pen tool to make a rudimentary "curve" in the first one.  By the way, I use picas as my standard measurement, but the adjustments are not fine enough.  To enable some very fine tweaking, you may want to change your measurements to points (go up to the intersection of the horizontal and vertical rulers, right click on the tiny "p" and choose your measurements. Ami_M
Thanks very much for the help! The text kept jumping below the curve when I chose edge rather than simply staying above it - is there a way I can prevent this?
jmwellborn
Hi @Ami_M If your text frame includes enough text so that there will be more than enough to fit above and below the curve, then wrapping will not stop inside it. If the text should fit inside the curve with nothing left over, then you could use the Inside setting plus Wrap to Both Sides.   With a little fiddling with the 4 settings,  you should be able to tuck the text into the curve of the man's arm.  Would this help?  Ami_M 1 Quote 24" iMAC Apple M1 chip, 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16 GB unified memory, 1 TB SSD storage, Ventura 13.6.  Photo, Publisher, Designer 1.10.5, and 2.3. Ami_M
Thank you so much for all of the help - this makes a lot more sense now! I can see a lot more clearly how they're working and where I was going wrong. Very many thanks!
