JMJohnston
Assistance. The node tool is not working when selected. Trying to create a ribbon, after a square is placed on the canvas, and the node tool is selected, the object is surrounded by blue lines without editable points. Do I need to reinstall the software? Plz. Assist
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @JMJohnston. Which Affinity app are you using, and how was the square created? Sounds it is a shape tool object. What if you select it + convert it to curves? JMJohnston
Thomaso - When I select it, converting to curves, then convert to sharp, then square is editable. I just don't remember modifying shapes this way. Alfred - I was referring to Affinity Designer (sorry). Alfred
Gear maker
You can tell by the wording in the layer of the layer panel, a Rectangle, Ellipse, Star, etc are shapes and will need to be converted to edit using nodes. Only if it says Curve or Curves can it be edited by the node tool directly. You say "converting to curves, then convert to sharp" only converting it to curves is necessary.
