Need 64gb RAM to actually use Publisher

Recommended Posts

I would not call APu a word processing app, it is more than that. My machine has only 8 GB RAM and doing fine on 100+ pages. I guess the behaviour is normal to use as much RAM as possible, while working in an application. Isn't there a saying that "free RAM is wasted RAM"?

Nothing leaking here, everything dry on my side, with 106+ pages having MASSIVE objects / layers inside. Only strange thing here: As soon as I start AP and AD (all in all 830 MB), memory use of APu drops down to 1800 MB. I was expecting dropping down to 3500 MB or something like that. But I am no hardware expert / developers, so what do I know.

Thanks everyone.

I've got about 35 linked images and pdfs with the largest being 3.74MB JPG and largest PDF being 12MB and 21 pages.

The whole document is 145 pages and currently behaving itself today, but it's idling at 16GB

Yesterday it climbed to using 27GB of ram and it would start using the pagefile. It never crashed but gosh it was slow.

I will work out what is triggering this leak if I can
