Hi everyone.....

I recently purchased several brushes through the Affinity store. They all were imported into Affinity Photo  except for the "the-shizzle-brushes".

I tried to import them several times but they do not show up in Affinty Photo.

Does anyone have any thoughts on why these brushes will not show up in the program?

thank you

The Shizzle Brushes are not compatible with Photo, as they are vector (not raster) brushes that will only work in Designer or the Designer Persona of Publisher.

Some, but not all, parts of the Shizzle pack will work Photo, I believe. It says it's compatible with Photo, but I'm not sure that's appropriate without some additional information to point that out. If you want, you should be able to email affinityreturns@serif.com to return the pack and get a refund.

Personally, I think the whole "Compatible with" section of the Affinity Store needs work. As it is, the 3 icons do not provide enough 'at a glance' info about brush type compatibility, & often (always?) grey out the Publisher icon even though via Studio Link all brush types can be used in that app if the user also owns the other apps.

I have Affinity Photo and Designer installed ( I have not installed Publisher yet). Do I have to somehow activate studio link?

You're welcome.

StudioLink is only in Publisher.

To use the Shizzle Brushes you would have to install them in Designer (in the Designer Persona). If you need to transfer work between Photo and Designer (or vice versa) you can use File > Edit in Designer (from Photo) or File > Edit in Photo (from Designer).

Or you can open any file made with one of the apps in the 2 other apps, for example with right-clicking and "open with..." or using the Menu File > Open...

@bulajap, if you sign into your Affinity Store account & go to the Downloads & product keys section, you should see in addition to the download buttons several PDF links, one of which is a 1.4 MB Installation.pdf guide. It has with 3 pages, one each for Styles, Assets, & Brushes. There is also a reference & a user guide PDF.

All 3 are worth reading and possibly downloading for future off-line reference.
