telencephalon Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Affinity ver. 1.8.3.641 Hello!I have such a problem - 50 seconds the picture lags for moving, and you can see when you can’t draw a circle with a brush but after 56 seconds it let go. P.S. Same problem on Affinity Photo PC spec CPU: Ryzen 9 3900 RAM: ROYAL 32GB GPU: RX 5700XT SSD: 970 EVO Plus Thank you! 12312.mp4 Quote
Staff Chris B Posted June 10, 2020 Staff Posted June 10, 2020 Hey .png, I cannot reproduce this on my machine. Can you make sure the app is using your GPU? Go to Preferences > Performance and make sure the Render is set to use your RX 5700 XT and it isn't using WARP. telencephalon Posted June 10, 2020 Author Posted June 10, 2020 Checked, I've got use the GPU. Same problem on AD and AP You can download the video to watch the lagshttps://send.firefox.com/download/46fe239c5911f239/#xVpNVkpbeaYPj_8o9EALsw Thank you! Quote
Staff Chris B Posted June 11, 2020 Staff Posted June 11, 2020 So I've tried this on my Desktop which has an AMD R9 390 GPU and i5 CPU and I've tested it on my laptop that has a Nvidia RTX 2060 OC and i7 and both perform much better than what I see in your video, however your machine is a higher spec than both my machines... I assume your drivers are all up to date? I noticed that you're seeing straight lines with the Paint Brush Tool which suggests some input lag or something. Are you using a tablet and do you have Windows Ink on or off? If you do have a tablet, try disconnecting it and trying it with your mouse. telencephalon Posted June 11, 2020 Author Posted June 11, 2020 I tried with a tablet and without as you said all the same problem. Most interesting, these slowdowns are always when I open a program, and these slowdowns last 50-60 seconds then it releases and everything works fine. It slows down the movement itself, drawing, creating shapes if you want I can record more video, I don’t know how to fix itDrivers set old and new, all the same problem AD, AP also reinstalled nothing changed Quote
Staff Chris B Posted June 12, 2020 Staff Posted June 12, 2020 We know having a lot of ICC profiles, fonts and assets can cause the apps to load slow but that's more related to the time you click the .exe to the time you see the splash screen. Once that has all loaded, everything in theory should be speedy. Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
telencephalon Posted September 26, 2020 Author Posted September 26, 2020 Affinity Photo - 1.8.5.703 Affinity Designer - 1.8.5.703 Hello!I reinstalled windows, installed affinity everything worked fine and fast. After I installed 15 fonts, problems returned I don't even know how to solve it 🤔 Quote
Staff Chris B Posted September 29, 2020 Staff Posted September 29, 2020 So the issue didn't happen until those fonts were installed? Are they single fonts or font family's with multiple variations? How many ICC profiles? If you take those fonts off, is it running ok? Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
