iMac1943
The attached files will explain what I mean. See the first photo. At the end you see a wall, and also machinery. With Photoshop, the wall is gone, also the machinery and it looks like the hall is very very long. My question: how do you do this in Affinity Photo? If possible a step by step guide. Many thanks! My Strawberry Monkey
Hi, Have look here at chapter 6, you're going to need the inpainting and Clone tools. These tutorials guide you through using them https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10119-in-house-affinity-photo-video-tutorials/ Allan iMac1943 1 Quote About me: Trainer at Apple, Freelance Video Editor, Motion Graphics Artist, Website Designer, Photographer. My Strawberry Monkey
Just had a quick look at this in Photo, The image you uploaded is low res so struggled a bit. If you start with using the inpainting brush to get rid of the machinery, then use CMD + J to duplicate the picture when happy with the results. Resize the duplicate to fit within the wall of the original and align as you see fit. Mask the duplicate, it will disappear, then use the Brush tool and make sure white is selected as your foreground colour and set the brush hardness to 0% and then paint back in from the centre of the image to avoid the hard edges of the picture, took a minute or so but thats the steps I took and it worked. You may want to duplicate again to create an even longer look to the hallway. Hope this helps. iMac1943
Hi Allan, you say:"Mask the duplicate" How do I do that? I'm new you see. than use the Brush Tool you write. Is it the 'Paint Brush Tool'? you reply please. Many thanks, Luc
My Strawberry Monkey
Once the layer is selected then click on the mask icon, see screenshot attached. That is correct the paint brush tool and make sure white is selected as your foreground colour and set the brush hardness to 0% and then paint back in from the centre of the image to avoid the hard edges of the picture. If you have the picture aligned correctly the above step will be simpler. Using the steps mentioned are a guide, it will depend on the images you are using. iMac1943
OK, now it's clean. My problems is I am not yet used to the terminology. Now I know what 'mask icon' is. That will help me further. Thank you Allan!

My Strawberry Monkey
This is it... I cannot see the effect of the brush... Looks like you've achieved what you wanted. iMac1943
That's right Allan, but I could not see any difference moving up and down the brush. Any way, the result is OK. Now I am looking at all the 'lessons' you mentioned in your first reply. I work now on the beta program because I have 10.10 beta on my iMac. Hopefully Affinity will fix the problem soon. My Strawberry Monkey
Ok, so if you select the mask layer then press CMD + I to invert the mask it will disappear then use the brush to paint back in the layer trying to avoid the outline of the duplicate. See the screen shot, you can see the where you've just placed the image and you can see the edges of it. My Strawberry Monkey
Looks like you've got the whole layer selected rather than just the mask, click the drop down arrow for that layer and select just the mask and follow that technique.
