Hey, first post here, as i could not find any solution to this.

I am trying to put a text into this bear shape so that it will fill the shape inside, just like the one on the left.

I feel like it should be straightforward, but  I can't seem to work it out. Since it stems from a picture, I was unable to convert it to text frame in designer.

I have all 3 programs available.

You need to convert the pixel bear shape into a vector (Curves) You can use the pen tool to draw a curve in the shape of the bear.

Once you have a bear shaped curve you can convert it to a text frame and place text within it.

You can rework your above bitmap, aka vectorize that Berlin bear, than duplicate it's layer and convert the duplicate into a textframe etc. - Like this here (you have to change stroke color and it's thickness, further apply the text you want) ...

Damn, now I made your Abi homework ...🤔

... or try online converters, for example https://www.vectorizer.io/

The outline of a text-shaping bear may not be accurate.

In addition to the advice given above, I think it’s worth noting that the text you put inside the bear shape may not flow as you expect it to.
The text in the example image seems to be a list of names, which may be fine in some circumstances, but putting normal paragraphs of text into the shape may cause the flow of the text from word to word to be interrupted in unexpected ways.
For example, consider the point at which the text reaches the legs. Should the text flow down one leg and the then the other (if so, in which order), or should it flow ‘across and between’ the legs?
You may find that you have to split the text into different text frames to achieve the result you want.

I converted the image in Vector Magic, took a bit of fiddling to get the SVG right but pretty much works as the original example.

From seeing an original Berlin bear, I can see how the edge was made, especially around the mouth, an outer stroke creates the stroke shape, including the internal lines, this, albeit a compromise, makes the text flow look better and stops stroke and text overlaps like these.

These are nigh on impossible to sort out with indenting the text plus the bear frame looks ugly.

There is a way to control text near the edges but this requires copying and pasting bears with different stroke settings and expanding the strokes and then overlaying them.

When tool based vector tracing, since the initial yellow bear stroke is a thicker one here, common tracing will result to outline vector curves. So if the used trace tool supports center line tracing it would be better to use that tracing option then. - And yes, the bear text frame needs to be slightly smaller so it looks visually better when text is not overlapping with the bear stroke boundaries.

This is an SVG saved as an Affinity Designer file: baer_berlin.afdesign Saved with history so you can jog back and forth in the history panel.
