Pntrguy
Hello. One feature I wish existed in Affinity Photo is a rotate canvas function. I mean where one can spin the image freely like a sheet of paper while working, to get a more comfortable angle for drawing different areas of the image. Does this function exist and maybe I’m just missing it? If not, maybe I could suggest it in the requests area. Please let me know, and thanks! Pntrguy
Thank you, Telemax! That helps a ton. Even though the video's about Affinity Designer, rotate left / right works in Affinity Photo as well. Very cool. Like I say, that's very helpful. What about a "free spin" tool, where one can spin the canvas like that but organically, not just in increments? Just hit a shortcut key to access the function, then spin to taste by dragging the cursor. Photoshop has this, but I'm not sure whether there could be something analogous in Affinity Photo. Thoughts on this, anyone?
csc14us
I wish you could rotate the canvas at arbitrary angles (but options for snapping) with touch gestures, not just the view menu. Also, hotkeys for the view-menu rotate left and rotate right would be good additions.
ashf
You can do that with two finger gesture on a trackpad if it's Mac version - like iPad version.
csc14us
I'm talking about on Windows on a Surface Pro 7. I can zoom the view with gestures, but not rotate.

csc14us
A rotate tool would also be a good solution. But ClipStudio Paint does let you rotate the view with gestures, so that's probably the best idea. Cool that it works on the Mac.

But there are no default hotkeys for this. You'd have to set them up yourself under Affinity Photo>Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts. There you can navigate to the "View" feature, and type in whatever hotkeys you want for the rotate functions.
csc14us
Yeah, that's what I'm doing.
