When using "Photo - Launch registered application" function in Olympus Workspace on an E-P5 camera ORF raw file, Affinity Photo does not open it as a raw file, but immediately show it as a jpg format.  This happens when no jpg format of the photo is available on the drive.  Attached is a sample ORF raw file that opens in JPG format.  There is no problem opening the ORF raw file any other way.  (Windows 10 operating system)

Hi @CreditFlats

Welcome to the forums.

"Launch Registered app" does not send the RAW file across, but only a 16bit TIFF; this the behaviour regardless of which application you use as a registered app. I suggest you get in touch with Olympus and see if they have any way of passing over the RAW file instead of the tiff.

I'm afraid we have no control over what they send over. We only load the file exported by Workspace. Lightroom, for example, is the same. It can only pass a tiff or a jpeg to an external app.

I have only now read these posts.

I use Olympus Workspace and have no problem with the 'Launch Registered App' facility. I find the raw file is quickly transferred into the 'Develop Persona' in Affinity without any changes!

I have OM1 system camera and when I click launch registered application, I now get a strange two tone block of colour - which is annoying since until a month ago it would launch and open the file as a colour image.
