Context Toolbar does not work

I am missing functionality in the context toolbar. When I click an image or a layer, no functionality is shown in the context toolbar. Strangely, when I search Google on this topic I see a lot of screenshots and videos where people have fill colours or replace images features in their context toolbar. But I am not. Please help.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @AffinityJF.

The functions available on the Context Toolbar depend entirely on what Tool you have selected.

For example, Replace Image is a function of the Move Tool. Fill Colors could be a function of the Move Tool, or the Tool that created a shape, or several others, depending on the layer content.

Try menu “View → Show Context Toolbar”.
It should be ticked/checked if the Context Toolbar is to be shown.
If it is showing but there is nothing in it then can you supply a screen grab of the whole screen please?

Why is that even an option? It makes no sense. I thought the app was all bugged out, but then it appears that this option was unchecked somehow.

That you can hide the context toolbar. To me that seemed like the UI was bugged.

Hiding the context toolbar makes no sense.
Using tab for showing only menu items ok I get that, maybe hide left or right studio which I also find a strange option but ok.
And since we have a layout manager(studio manager) to create personal setups I find these options redundant.
But the context toolbar should always be there to find the options that are used for given tool..

If someone doesn’t need/want the Context Toolbar open, maybe temporarily, and/or they want a little bit more screen space, then they currently have the option to hide it, as they see fit, depending upon circumstances.

Just because I don’t want to hide it doesn’t mean that someone else shouldn’t be able to hide it if they want to.

It's more that there is no other way to expose any of the options in the context toolbar, there are usually no shortcuts for the buttons, nor is there any other place in the UI where you get access to the tool options.

This thread, as far as I understand the OP’s intentions, was to say that their Context Toolbar wasn’t visible, and they were given instructions about how to make it visible.

If you want to discuss making the settings in the Context Toolbar available via some functionality which isn’t currently available, such as Keyboard Shortcuts, then that’s probably better as part of a different discussion, of which there are already plenty in the forums, e.g:
